the next release of hawk will be more performant and more powerful.
but don't let that stop you from playing around with it now. here's a list of ways it's useful to me right now.
a generic scratchpad for random thoughts, door codes, and one-off lists that i don't want to hold in my head.
all available from my phone
like apple notes, without the apple
managing a small collection of music to listen to while working. all uploaded to S3 via hawk
subscribing to RSS feeds for all my “content consoooming”
editing files in clay
i do most of my dev work from inside of hawk
managing a small collection of recipes
at urls i can easily share with others
this /outbox folder
everything under /outbox in my hawk is public
so i just make a new file, then share the link i'm currently looking at
habit tracking
“tree-shaped” journalling
log entries at the year, season, week, and day levels
see summaries of entries at all the different levels
i think of this as a “guided autobiography” or akin to Jordan Peterson's “self-authoring”
iframes to all my other urbit apps
vibe curration and creation via ~wisbyr-pollec
effort poasting on the hawk.computer blog
testing small pieces of hoon code
like the dojo, but way easier
:- %vase !> 'whatever hoon'
generating invoices as downloadable PDFs
